Article 54

Article 54 of the Egyptian Constitution

Art.54: Citizens shall have the right to peaceful and unarmed private assembly, without the need for prior notice. Such private meetings should not be attended by security men. Public meetings, processions and gatherings shall be allowed within the limits of the law.

The funny thing is that I found this on the Egyptian government's website.

The entire problem in the last part which is "within the limits of the law", this last phrase undo the entire article as it refers to regulatory laws which we still have effective since British occupation while the article remains in the constitution as a nice decor like most of the constitution articles.

yeah you're right, the limits of the law seems to be the problem...
